Today at my window job, I was taken aback... A woman, whom I found no initial attraction to, made me smile and blush... and as a darker skinned fellow, you could understand how difficult the latter is to do... Shit... Smiling is something that does not brandish my face all too often, so with that being said... She comes to my window, and before she is able to explain her circumstances for standing before me, I start to smile because her smell is familiar... A mixture of ivory and some sweet scent, I've never been able to put my finger on, but I know that smell is of Africa ...
And before you get your panties in a bunch... I have never been to the continent of Africa... Africa was the name of my first love... That never read so corny before now... Probably because I've never really written that... Its hard to think of a loved one, that no longer loves... I digress...
So yes... familiar scent... So I automatically thought of her name... LaShawn... I ask the woman before me for her pertinent documents and photo id... I look down at her id and begin to smile more... Her name is also LaShawn.... Wholly Coincidences, Batman! Ok... I didn't use my homage to the Boy Wonder out loud, but that's what I was thinking...
So we go through the formalities of her business in my office, and I now have to give her a date to come back. She is noticing that I am smiling and asks what the smile is about... I tell her nothing and go about my business. I then look to the date that I have about to give her and realize that the day is actually LaShawn's born day... SMH.... My coworker tells me, after letting her in on the events that just transpired, that I need to give her a call...
If only it were that easy...
